About Mallory

Welcome to Because I Like Chocolate. My name is Mallory and as you may have guessed, I like chocolate. “Like” may be an understatement but we’ll go with it.

As a food writer and PhD candidate in clinical psychology, I think about food a lot. Whether it be from the perspective of promoting intuitive eating, or teaching people different ways to see food that don’t involve viewing eating as a hassle, my mandate is to help people develop healthier relationships with food. Lucky for me, I get to do this through both my clinical practice and my writing.

If you are interested in working with me in either capacity, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

    Hi Mallory,

I saw a clip of your recipes on Christmas on a Budget. I was very impressed by the quality of food your presented and the simplicity of preparing it. I am 63 years old and because of fibromyalgia I have had cut my hours down to part-time until I retire. I love to eat “clean and healthy” but have budget restraints and low energy. There are days, my mind is in a bit of a fog so, the simpler and quicker the meal, the better. Your website has so many easy tips and I love the way you “talk it through” for the reader. I am definitely one of you new biggest fans. Thanks again and I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Mallory, I read your review of Amore Di Mona Chocolate and was wondering if you have other vegan chocolates without soy lecithin and sugar that you would recommend?

    Thank you.
